The Statement of H.L.Doan, made at his request
and without solicitation, he being duly sworn stated that he
l landed in Chicago, Ill, January 17th, 1952; I was in Chicago
five weeks and lived, my wife and I both on 28¢ a day, l4¢
each. They said before I left here they would give me $1.25
a day for my expenses and furnish me a room and give my wife
wie same; we furnished our own room. They said in a meeting
"To Hell with you God, we don't want anything to do wdth him,
we can make Jesus Christ at lO¢ a day and make more money
than American people are making with Jesus Christ". You are
not allowed to naue God's ne e in any way. They believe and
said in their meetings that they just as leave their girls
to marry a negro as a white man, let their girls be pleased.
I went to a meeting there with 10,000 Soviets there in the
meeting and the y had the Red Flag in there and waived it
over my head. They sang their Soviet song and said Lenine
is the head of the Soviet government and he has been dead
since 1924, and this is 1952, and they have been out of a
leader since. They said that Heaven is in Russia a1d that
Hell is here in the United States, and that it wouldn't
take them but 24 hours to throw the White House in the River
They are soliciting $1000.00 a day for the miners here and
the miners are not getting any of it; they are soliciting
clothing and they pick it over and just send the old rags
down here. I am a God fearing man and I will sacrifice my
life before I will go under the Government they are trying to
` make us go under. They say they are going to overthrown our
government in less that eight months. I refused to speak
XX a word the five weeks I was there. They kept me under guard
i E2 nd I wasn't allowed to gp ahywhere by myself, I had an oldl
R§_ pistol and that was the only·thing that saved me and my wife
