IV. Special Salary Supplement

The Board hereby authorizes the payment of a special salary supple-
ment, as of June 30, 1978, to those individuals currently holding
appointments in clinical departments of the College of Medicine
under the terms of the Physicians' Services Plan and who elect
to accept the provisions of this "Geographic Full-Time Plan" by
executing a "Practice Agreement and Assignment" effective as of
July 1, 1978. This special salary supplement is to be paid from
assets (including accounts receivable) held by THE FUND for
Advancement of Education and Research in the University of Kentucky
Medical Center as of June 30, 1978, and it will be in addition to
the regular salary supplement to be determined on July 1, 1978.
This special salary supplement will be paid in five equal monthly
installments, beginning on August 7, 1978, but will be reduced
on a pro rata basis in the event the individual's employment at
the University is terminated, by resignation or otherwise, prior
to November 30, 1978. In consideration of the individual accept-
ing the provisions of this "Geographic Full-Time Plan", including
a reduction in the University base salary for purposes of tenure
and sabbatical leave, the special salary supplement will be equal
to five-twelfths of the difference between the individual's base
salary for 1977-78 (including the ten percent TIAA retirement
contribution) plus five percent and the individual's University
salary for 1978-79 (including the ten percent TIAA retirement
    contribution).
