Collection Overview
- Biography / History
- Baptist minister, educator. Pratt attended Hamilton Literary and Theological Institution (later Colgate University) in 1838. He spent 1839 to 1845 in Crawfordsville, Indiana, and was pastor of the First Baptist Church, in Lexington, Kentucky from 1845 to 1863. While in Lexington, Pratt served as school commissioner, operated a private school, and had charge of the Sunday School and book division of the Baptist Church. He also spent time in Louisville and Shelbyville, Kentucky.

- These are the diaries of William Moody Pratt. In addition to the account of his activities and his impressions of the local and national contemporary scene, the diaries contain lists of marriages Pratt performed and of people received into the church.
