Women‘s safety on campus has always been a
top concern for the President's (‘ommission on
Women.

The commission helped conduct a survey on
women's safety on UK's campus. whose results
were announced in late September. But the com-
mission which llK President Lee Todd formed
in 2001 tackles other issues associated with
the status of women faculty. staff and students
on llK‘s campus.

()ne of the commission's main goals is “to ad-
vocate for the improved treatment of women and
women's well-being." said Jessica Burke. 3 politi-
cal science and sociology senior who is a mem-
ber of the commission.

The commission partnered with the Presi-
dent‘s Commission on Diversity and the Office of
Institutional Research last year in conducting a
campus climate survey This survey aimed to get
an overall look at the atmosphere of UK's cam-
