Abstract
The VisitLEX slides (dated circa 1980s-1990s; 0.27 cubic feet; two boxes) contain slides along with some negatives and photographs, created and used by VisitLEX during the 1980s and 1990s to promote the city of Lexington and the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky as a travel destination.

Collection Overview
- Biography / History
- VisitLEX, the Lexington Convention and Visitors Bureau, was established by the Lexington-Fayette County Urban Government in 1974 to market and promote the city of Lexington and the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky a travel and meeting destination.
- Scope and Content
- The VisitLEX slides (dated circa 1980s-1990s; 0.27 cubic feet; 2 boxes) contains slide along with some negatives and photographs, created and used by VisitLEX during the 1980s and 1990s to promote the city of Lexington and the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky as a travel destination. They were commissioned by VisitLEX and created by several independent photographers over several years. The slides retain their original arrangement and are organized by topic. The topics include horse farms, downtown Lexington, Rupp Arena, distilleries, bluegrass music, the University of Kentucky, specific events, shopping, and a squirrel drinking out of a UK cup.
