Collection Overview
- Biography / History
- Ezra L. Gillis founded the Bureau of Source Materials in Higher Education within the University of Kentucky Office of the President in 1937 upon his retirement from his position as Registrar (1910-1937). The Bureau became the University and Educational Archives in 1956 and University Archives in 1965, when it was moved into the Library and merged with Special Collections.

- The University of Kentucky. Bureau of Source Materials in Education. Collection on Kentucky Education Institutions Catalogs and Bulletins (dated 1906-1964; 9 cubic feet; 22 boxes) primarily comprise course catalogs and/or course bulletins of Kentucky colleges, universities, law schools, and seminaries from the early to middle 20th century. Also includes directories for Kentucky public schools, 1913-1954. Collected by the University of Kentucky Bureau of Source Materials in Education, a precursor to the University of Kentucky Archives.
