I have a letter this xwrning from Mrs.Boyer, and I think

say such Innny things that one nnnot help laughing, although the
situation has been so serious.

Mrs.Averr has finally gotten into her houee at Swarth—

She is such a good manager that I feel much better this morning,-

I feel that I am going to have some help fihat amounts to

the surfierinero and letters or pettel—oards to the others, depeneing
upon whether we have to enclose a receipt or non. I do not dictate

now the press letters are all turned over to Miss Andrews; she
solicits the neWspapere, and carries on all U18 correspondeice with
the chairmen. She only consults me occasionally and in fact, I try
to nave ell the consultation go to Elizabntb. She also keeps a card
register of the press work, “Mich gives us the names of all the papers
we have and the condition they are in, uni the names of the chairmen.
She also attends to all the convention date work. The Russell's
dates :0 to her, she mmitee the letters to the State fresidente

consult me in regard to that persons shall no to the other National
conventions, but the writes all the letters. In fact I have little

both these girls take a good share of the responsibilit5. I really
thing you would be proud if you could see how I have let go of
that work. '

Miss Reilly and Miss Osborne do most of the etenOgraphic
work. Miss Andrews is a splendid stenograplwr, but she is so
loaded up with other things that she has not time for much menogriphy
nowdays. Miss Osborne does all the filing; she keeps track of all
the fil ee; I do not have anything whatever to do with it smd I never
even go neat the file case.
