- This history of the medical profession in Franklin County, Ky. was compiled in 1946 by the women's auxiliary of the local medical society. The volume begins with a general history of health conditions and medical practice in Frankfort and Franklin County. It also includes brief biographies of each physician who practiced in the county, giving educational and personal data for the doctors. Black physicians are named in a separate section. The volume has chapter devoted to the Franklin County Medical Society and its women's auxiliary. There are a few clippings added since the volume's compilation. These are mostly obituaries of physicians.
