- This is an account book, kept between 1856 and 1862, by Squire Gaines of Midway, Ky. The book contains records of hemp breaking and remedies for illness. The latter primarily relate to horses. There are also newspaper clippings pasted over some pages. These generally are anecdotes or poetry.
