- Biography / History
- George Wallace Muir graduated in 1899 with a Law degree from Central University, now known as Eastern Kentucky University. He was an active participant in the horse racing community.
- Scope and Content
- The George Wallace Muir papers include items saved by the Muir family. There is an autograph album from 1890-1893, dance cards from dances held in central Kentucky between 1896 and 1899. The dance cards list the partners for each song. Also included is the commencement program from Central University Law School class of 1899. There are two folders with items related to Kentucky horse racing, including a prize ribbon, program from a Keeneland luncheon, and Christmas cards with pictures of horses on them. Finally certificates honoring his judgeship for the United States Supreme Court and the Court of Appeals are included.
