- Biography / History
- Jean Ritchie, a 1946 graduate of the University of Kentucky, wrote Singing Family of the Cumberlands about her maternal grandfather and his fourteen children living in Viper, Kentucky in the Cumberland Mountains.
- Scope and Content
- This collection consists of a typescript, including corrections, of Ritchie's book Singing Family of the Cumberlands, as well as the book's jacket, a pencil drawing of an illustration for the book, and clippings of book reviews and articles about Ritchie.
