- Scope and Content
- The Marie Louise Kellogg road trip diary (dated 1915; 0.055 cubic feet; 1 folder) comprises one diary that documents a road trip taken by Marie Kellogg with family and friends from Kentucky to California in the summer of 1915. In the diary, Marie lists every city that the group stops in, covering Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, and California. Each daily entry begins with when the group started the next leg of the journey, from there she details sights seen on the drive, where they stopped for lunch, opinions on their lodging, wandering about the towns they stopped in, going to shows and recitals, car troubles, spending time on the beach, and visiting friends along the way.
- The Marie Louise Kellogg road trip diary collection is part of the Wade Hall Collection of American Letters, which includes correspondence and diaries from all over North America covering the time period of the Civil to Korean Wars. The materials were collected by Wade Hall and document everyday men and women.
