- Scope and Content
- These are microfilmed copies of papers related to Albert Gallatin Rhea on his career and those of his relatives. The papers contain clippings, correspondence, legal statements, and a photo. Most of the clippings concern national and Kentucky politics, with particular emphasis on the career of John S. Rhea. Many of the clippings are from Rhea's paper, the DEMOCRAT. Some are from the OWENSBORO MESSENGER and a few are from the SALT RIVER TIGER (Shepherdsville, Ky.) One undated letter contains a criticism of ex-governor J.C.W. Beckham by John S. Rhea. There is also a sworn statement accusing the sheriff of Logan County of vote buying in the 1896 election.
