Dear Sir,
J. F. Smith's Admr Vs L & N R R Go.

You will recall that this was the last case tried by you
before you left to serve your contry and that you tried it with the
assistance of Mr. NUckols at Whitesburg. The Court of Appeals
reversed it but did not pull it out by the rants and we have to
try it again. It is set down for trial on August 19th at Whites-
burg. Mr. Morgan has written me about the matter and among other
things he says that he has not been able to locate the file of Mr.
Nuckols; I thought that possibly your file contained the
investigation papers and a large number of authorities. If you
have a file covering the matter will you please send it to Mr.
Morgan right away. We éDuld get in shape and win this case
if there is any way possible to do it.

Yours very truly , /, ;7”’///
