Dear Sir:-
Your letter 6th. to Ass't. District Attorney suit A. G. Wooten to recover
for value of a cow claimed to heme been injured on April, lst. '-
Our Stock Claim Agent writes as follows;
"I hand you herewith papers in suit H. C. Wooten of Perry County for cow
crippled. I have madeevsry effort that I souls to settle this case but could
not reach an agreement with him as he wanted $75100 damages and this is about
twice as much as the cow was worth if she had been killed. In my judgemnt
$15.00 would be amole to cover the damages but 1 had Mr. A. B. COmbs the
Sherriff of Perry County and a cloae neighbor of Wootens look at the cow and
asked him to say what he thought the iamages was and he said $25100 at the
ivory outside and I made Wooten an offer of that amount and he re fused it.
MI think we should males a tender of $%.OO in court and fight the matter out as
ff$75.00 is clear out of any reason in this case. "
