Biography / History
Author, bookseller, poet. Henry Cleveland Wood lived in Harrodsburg, Ky. where he operated a bookstore and wrote short stories, poetry, serial novels, opera libretti and papers on Kentucky history.
Scope and Content
This microfilm copy of Henry Cleveland Wood's scrapbook contains newspaper articles and photographs concerning Wood and his hometown of Harrodsburg, Ky. Several poems by Wood are included in this collection along with reviews of Wood's writings, drawings by Wood and his photographs of Harrodsburg, A number of photographs and articles document the history of Harrodsburg. Photographs of such Harrodsburg landmarks as Fort Harrod, the Lincoln cabin, Harrodsburg Tavern and the court house are included, as are articles and pictures of historical events re-enacted, particularly during the 150th anniversary of Harrodsburg in 1924. There are several photographs of Shakertown and a few programs of events that took place in Harrodsburg during the 1920s.
