The Board of Trustees met June 6th, in the Presidents room in the College. Present W. B. Kinkead R. J. Spurr R. A. Spurr L. J. Bradford W. D. Nicholas Philemon Bird P. P. Johnston J. D. Clardy at 3 P-.; M. Chtm. On motion W. B. Kinkead, W. D. Nicholas, R. A. Spurr, R. J. Spurr and Philemon Bird, were elected an Executive Committee for the ensuing year, The resignation of W. D. Nicholas as member of the Ex. Com. was offered and on motion accepted. On motion P. P. Johnston was elected vice W. D. Nicholas resigned, and secretary of the Board of Trustees and of the Ex. Committee. On motion W. D. Nicholgs was elected Treasurer for the ensuing year, salary $300. On motion $50. in addition to that already allowed was added to Mrs. Blackburnts salary as Matron. On motion the salaries of Prof. Prewitt and Professor J. W. Newman were fixed at $900 each for the ensuing year. - page 85-86 MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES, June 6, 1889 - page 86-S7 On motion the action of the Board is referred to W. H. Garman is rescinded and the Executive Committee is instructed to employ Prof. Garman if he can serve the necessi- ties of the station in regard to entomology and the college in regard to Agriculture, and if not to employ some one who can. On motion the Executive Committee is instructed to have the dormitory for young men enlarged and architectually improved for the accomodations of 30 or 40 additional students to cost not exceeding $4000,. and to have a College Home wrected for ladies attending the Normal School. eligibly situated with a capacity to accomodate near 50 students to cost not exceeding $6000. On motion the rate of compensation allowed Prof. Peterman for the summer school shall be on a basis of $400.00 for six weeks work and of Prof. Newman at the rate of $205 for six weeks work. On motion the Executive Committee is authorized to fill a chair of veterinary science in the college when they see their way to the accomplishment 6f the ends contemplated by its establishment. Rn motion the Board then adjourned to meet on the 4th Tuesday of Nov. 1889, and the committee appointed to deal with the subject of the verbal communication presented from Gov.
