Collection Overview

Scope and Content
This collection primarily contains clippings of newspaper articles from Edna Talbott Whitley's series, "Footnotes to Local History" which appeared in the KENTUCKIAN CITIZEN (Paris, Kentucky) from February 15, 1957 to May 7, 1964. The 108 articles in this series deal with Kentucky and Bourbon County history, and include such subjects as the social and cultural life of early settlers. In addition, there are a few miscellaneous newspaper articles written by Edna Talbott Whitley, Wade Hampton Whitley and others. A brief topical index prepared by Mrs. Whitley is also included.
