Scope and Content
These materials contain prepublication typescript versions of Jere Hungerford Wheelwright's novel, KENTUCKY STAND (New York: Scribner, 1951), a young adult adventure novel set in the Kentucky frontier during the late 18th century. One volume is the typescript of the original manuscript and the other is the submission copy sent to the publisher. Wheelwright's corrections appear in the manuscript copy while the submission copy contains revisions made by Scribner editor, Wallace Meyer. The galleys were set from this submission copy.
