Ny part on this program today is to talk to you on the topic  
¤*The Arts and Crafts Store . . . A Step in the Right Direction". I  
How are we going in the right direction as far as building this store? _
I would 1.ike to say I*ve been here in Knox County about five l
years and I've enjoyed every dayof it. I want to repeat something 4 b
that Oscar Parsons told me-—something that 1*1.1. never forget; `
the first time I was ever at the D and W Cafbteria I heard Mr. Parsons
make the statement that HI know there are some people who like me
and some people that don*t". _
It is trueilihat from the beginning of time we a1.1. have our likes ·
and our dislikes but that doesn't keepLus, as a group of citizens in
Know County from working together to do something to beat down poverty.
Some times when I go back to my old home in Lexington to visit, j
I*m asked Qwhy in the world did you ever go to Knox County?*• Well,
l it*s a long story and I*m not going to undertake to tell you about
it now. I*m proud to be here and proud to have a part in this program _
today. _
` I want to talk on something that I think is important to every
businessman and every professional man in Knox County.
I
