- Biography / History
- Oldham County was founded in north central Kentucky in 1823, and both Westport and Lagrange have been the county seat. Martin DeMoss (1825-1906) moved to La Grange at the age of twenty and held various offices in Oldham County for over forty years as Justice of the Peace, sheriff, school superintendent, and county judge.
- Scope and Content
- The Lagrange and Westport turnpike bond (dated 1882 September 13; 0.01 cubic feet; 1 items) comprises a 100 dollar turnpike bond for the LaGrange and Westport voting precincts in Oldham County from the Bank of Kentucky, signed by the president of the Joint Board of Turnpike Commissioners, Isaac Risley, and approved by county judge, Martin DeMoss.
