Biography / History
Kentucky native Malinda Josephine Lancaster (1841-1919) was the wife of George Lancaster (1830- ). George Lancaster owned and operated a dry goods store in Lexington, Kentucky.
Scope and Content
One hundred and thirteen images, a mixture of carte de visite, cabinet cards, and tintypes presented in a fifty page red leather embossed photographic album, with four panel carte de visite carrier leaves and cabinet card carrier leaves. Album has a business card for George Lancaster's dry good business in Lexington, Kentucky, taped onto the front inside cover and is stamped with "Mrs. Geo. Lancaster" and "72 South Broadway, Lexington, Kentucky" on the flyleaf. Loose in the front of the album is a blank Camp Receipt for the Confederate Veteran Association of Kentucky. Album likely complied by Malinda Josephine Lancaster (1841-1919), wife of George Lancaster (1830-).
