Collection Overview
- Biography / History
- Dr. William Elijah Adams was born August 17, 1866 to Robert and Zorilla Adams in Washington County Kentucky. He graduated from the University of Louisville as a Doctor of Medicine in 1889, and worked primarily in Anderson County, Kentucky as a physician. He was married to Mary Elizabeth Adams in 1896 and had eleven children. Dr. Adams died on September 14, 1944.

- The William E. Adams papers (dated 1874-1954; 0.3 cubic feet; 1 box) comprise prescription books, medicinal alcohol licenses and order forms, and financial records that document his work as a physician during the early 1900s.
