     The Board of Trustees of t-he TUniversity of KentUuck-ty met in
regular Cuarterly session in the Pesident's ofILfice at the nj--
versity on, TuesdaY, Decenlber 14, 1926.  The following memb-ers
Iwere -oresent:  Mr. Rhoads Mr. Froman, Mr. Gordon, Judge Stoll,
Ur. McKee, Mr. Ingels,     M-V. hillenmoyer, and 2.Ire E. B, 17ebb.

     The following resolution was offered, seconded, and adopted:
Whereas there was a -mee-tn- of the Board of Trustecs in May,
1926, a' r..hlich there was no- a cquorurm, and where as there was held
a meeting of. the Board o. Tusees in Sc-ptember, 1926, at which
there was not a, quoru,;- ;r.v - .oe-re. be it resolved that the
actionstaken at those t:.o meejt-.g1es axe aC;oCPt ed as the acts o,
the Board of Trustees at the present zieeting.  On motion, d-uly
seconded and carried, ltlhe minutes of the Executive Cor.ziittee
since the April meeting of the Board were also approved.

ties -and t-hat, hese rules . ,  now in process of being carried

peri.nent  aTi    reside;:c.ey reported to the Board that
the L. & N. Railway Con.pany had -iven to the University a deed
-o the right of wray occupied by- them through t-he property at
Uhe Robinson Sub-Experiment Station in Breathitt County.   Oil
motion, duly seconded, it ras ordered that the gift be accepted
and that an appropriate communicmtion be sent to the Company
expressing the appreciation of the Board for the gift.

     (9) Gift of Southern Society.  President McVey presented a.
co-munication froin the 8O'.  rn Society, an orgenizaition at
NIrew York City, offering to make a grift to the University of
Kentucky of a nedal to be awlarded annually to the student ma-king
the Most all-round prog-eec.   On motion, duly seconded, the
gift was accepted and the Secrotary instructed to send to the
Society a letter accerpting the gEi-ft on behalf of the board.

     (10) Record of Ex-periment StCation at International Live
Stock Show.  A comnmunicat.ion from Dean Cooper giving the re-
sults o. t~he Experiraent Stat ion a-Lt -he International Live Stock
Show    Chicago was read and ordered incorporated in the minutes.

     (11) APpointments, Resignations, and Leaves of Absence.  The
following listd of appointments, resignations, and leaves of absence
was recommended by President McVey, and on motion, duly seconded,
approved:

     Resignation of Miss Nellie bard, Assistant Professor of Home
Economics, effective at the end of the present semester.

     Resignation of Miss Bruce Eloise Kirkman, home dexn=Jstration
Agent, Union County, effective October 1, 1926.

     Appointment of Basil Hayden as coach. of the Varsity Basket
Ball team for the season of L926-1927, at* $300 a month for three
months, Dece-mber, January, and February, to be paid from the funds
Of the Athletic Associ.ation.

     Resignation of Ray Eklund from the athletic staff, effective
December 1, 1926.   Resigns owing to the condition of his health.

     Appointment (continuation) of J. C. Nageotte, assistant county
agent, '1ontgomery County, at,, a salary of $200 a month, from October
' to December 31, 1926.

     Continuation of employment of Florec-Je MdcKnight as home
demonstration agent, Lee County, at a salary of $150 a month, from
October 1, 1926, to September 30, 1927

     Continuation of employment of C. E. Galbbard as county agent,
Uorgan County, at a salary of $125 a nonth, from November 1,
1926, to October 31, 192 7 ,

     Appointment of Pinder H.. Wilson as county agent, Calloway
County, at a salary of "166 2/3 a moronth, from October 11, 1926,
to October 10, 1927.

     Appointment of Uiss Ruby Mfiller Barlow as assistant home
demonstration agent, at a salary of $100 a month, from November
1 to December 31, 1926.

     Appointment of Edward F. Gallagher as warrant officer,

     Ap-ointzment of lirsk Al'-, ;Mtr cClure as 1pianist in the Depart-
ment of Physical Education, at :- 270 a year, effective Sc-tcm-erber
1, 1923.

     Appointlent '-of Miss Rnury Guyn as clerk in the Depatm-ent
of Farm Econormics at, a salary of 170 a month, effective December
1, 1923.
     Increase in salary of Mrs. Mary B. Tate to $95.00 per month,
effective January 1, 1927.

     Leave of absence for Fred J. Murphy as football coach until
March 1, on full pay, was granted.

     Sabbatical leave of absence for Professor 0. B. Jesness
for one year, with half pay, from September 1, 1927, to July 1,
1928, was granted.   Professor Jesness asks for leave of absence
for the purpose of study.


     (12) Ca-nous Plans and Building.  President MoVey presented
to the Board the report of the architect on plans for grouping
buildings on the camipuc.  These plans wiere considered at length
by the Board which also discussed the rnatter of the construction
of a Library Building and Recitation Building.   No action was
taken with reference to these matters,
