ABBEY OF GETHSEMANI

TRAPPI ST, KE NTUCKY

Oct 17, 1960

Dear Victor:

Your letter with the proof arrived la st week, about the
11th I think. It was postmarked the 10th, from Lost Creek Ky.
I presume that Lost Creek is a postoffice that has no other pur-
pose than to handle lost letters which are shipped up the Creek
by pixies. This is a curious facet of Kentucky life as yet
unexplored. But in any case there is nothing wrong with the
proof and I did not rush to say anything about receiving it
as by now the broadside is probably finished, no?

I did not, need not, repeat how much I enjoyed the last
visit, with Bob MacGregor here. Some time around the 19th of
November would probably be good for the meeting with the
antiéCatholic professor of political science who, I hope, will
enjoy seeing Gethsemani. Doss this seem like a good time to
you? It is most convenient for me.

As the little house progresses, through obstacles and
misunderstandings, I must think of a few simple furnishings.

Do you know of anywhere that they still make hand made furniture
for instance back in the hills? if there were some person back
there still doing things like that I would be happy to buy some
chairs, a table, etd. I\think of a very simple rug almost like
sacking for the floor. Do you know of any possible source for
such things?

As ever, very good wishes and blessings tonyuy both.

Cordially in Christ
