Collection Overview
- Biography / History
- Robert S. Todd (1791-1849), the son of General Levi Todd, became a lawyer after studying at Transylvania University. He served as a captain in the 5th Regiment, Kentucky Volunteers during the War of 1812. Following the war, Todd became a successful businessman and politician, sitting in the Kentucky Senate. Additionally, he worked for many years as the clerk for the Kentucky House of Representatives. He married Eliza Parker in November 1812; they had six children together including Mary Todd, Abraham Lincoln's future wife. Following Eliza's death, Todd married Betsy Humphreys.

- The collection consists of printed regimental orders for Captain Robert S. Todd, ordering a drill muster for May 17, 1811. The orders are annotated in Todd's hand.
