To Father. Received a letter from the Adjunct saying that the regiment is encamped two miles from where Sturgis left them on the road, and expecting an attack from the rebels. Arrested a group of young rebels and took action against confederate sympathizers. Lost the 
                         on the shores of Florida, and have fortified the city as a result.
