- S. J. Rogers and his family lived in Paris, Kentucky, and farmed corn. One unidentified member of the family served as an Ordinance Officer in the Confederate army during the Civil War.
- Scope and Content
- S. J. Roger's account book consists of a Civil War ordinance officer's book of vouchers, notations concerning corn shucking, and household accounts. One notable entry concerns the employment of a free black woman hired in 1883 to cook, wash, and milk the cows.
