Collection Overview

Biography / History
The Forage and Grassland Foundation (FGF) is a non-profit corporation that was formed in 1983 with approximately $100,000 from the XIV International Grasslands Congress organized by the American Forage and Grassland Council, Inc. and the University of Kentucky (UK) and held at UK in Lexington, Kentucky, in June 1981. Gary Lacefield was the first Secretary. The purpose of the Foundation is to strengthen forage livestock systems around the world by providing a perpetual source of funding to support and enhance forage livestock agriculture.
