was instrumental in the founding of WKYT's Sports Spectrum show on Saturday nights, which has been named the best sports program in the state of Kentucky by the Associated Press for the last two years.
THE WILDCATS ON TELEVISION
The University of Kentucky will once again be featured on one of the largest collegiate television networks in the country, this year for delayed broadcasts only, due to the TV restrictions imposed upon the Cats by the NCAA.
Host Communications of Lexington, the firm that handles all radio rights for the NCAA Basketball Championships, administers the television network. WKYT-TV in Lexington and WAVE-TV in Louisville act as co-producers of the telecasts.
Ralph Hacker will handle play-byplay for the network, Former Wildcat letterman Jim Master will serve as color analyst, with Rob Bromley serving as host for the broadcasts.
Rob Bromley
Rob Bromley begins his 10th year on the UK Television Network. Bromley has been the sports director at WKYT-TV in Lexington since 1980, when he took over those duties from the legendary Denny Trease, who now serves as the TV "voice" of the Kansas City Royals.
Bromley is a graduate of Butler University in Indianapolis and worked as a sports anchor in Lima, Ohio, before joining the WKYT-TV staff in 1977.
Jim Master
Jim Master, who lettered for the Wildcats basketball team in 1981-82-83-84, was recently named color commentator for the UK delayed TV network.
A native of Fort Wayne, Ind., Master is Kentucky's 23rd all-time leading scorer, having scored 1,283 points during his career. He averaged 9.6 points per game his senior year, in which Kentucky advanced to the NCAA Final Four in Seattle. He is second on the Kentucky all-time career free throw percentage list at 84.9%.
Master is in the banking business in Lexington.
