- Biography / History
- The Barrow Unit, named for its founder, Dr. David Barrow of Lexington, Kentucky, was a unique volunteer medical organization, comprised largely of central Kentuckians. The unit provided medical services in England to personnel of the U.S. Army during World War I. Members included David Barrow, William Reddish, Waller O. Bullock, Charles Garr, and Louis Haggin.
- Scope and Content
- The Barrow Unit records (dated 1918-1941, undated; 0.42 cubic feet; 2 boxes) comprises correspondence, scrapbook, printed articles, newspaper clippings, photographs, and official orders and rosters, documenting the volunteer military medical unit known as the Barrow Unit, which provided medical services in England to personnel of the U.S. Army during World War I. The photographs, scrapbook, and correspondence relates to the Barrow Unit's activities during World War I in England. The Barrow Unit Association records document the Unit's reunions and post war activities. The collection additionally contains two histories of the unit. One contains the names and military background of the unit's members.

Scope and Contents
The scrapbook contains newspaper clippings, photographs, letters, and military paperwork regarding David Barrow and the Barrow Unit.
