Kentucky stunned Iona 62-38 in the second half, en roure to its second ECAC Holiday Festival title in as many tties. The Cats, who led 44-41 at halftime, put on an offensive display as Tony Delk led all scorers with 29 points on 9-12 shooting from the field, including a 6-7 effort from beyond the three-point line.
Delk's play earned the senior MVP honors for rhe tournament, and he was joined by Antoine Walker and Walter McCarty on the all-tournament team.
But the first half wasn't quite as productive as the second period. UK had five players in the first half with at least two fouls, including Mark Pope's three personals. Starters Delk and Walker saw only nine and eight minutes of action, respectively. Jeff Sheppard sparked UK off rhe bench, grabbing nine rebounds in the first half.
With Kentucky at full strength in rhe second period, the Cats shot 62.5 percent from the field. In all, five UK players scored in double figures while Iona was led by Greg Ban's 20-point effort.

Playing in front of its first hostile crowd of the season, second-ranked Kentucky outscored hosr Sourh Carolina 50-26 in rhe second half ro win 89-60.
The scrappy Gamecocks broke our of the gate quick, grabbing an 11-4 lead in the first three minures. But the Cars, behind Tony Delk's four three-pointers in the first half, battled back, as the lead changed five times in the first half. Finally, after a Wildcar flurry in the final 2:25 that broke a 32-32 tie, UK went to the locker room up 39-34 at the break.
The second half was all Kenrucky. First, the Cats went on a 17-5 run in the first seven minutes that saw the lead increase to 56-39. After the Gamecocks cut the margin to 11, 58-47 wirh 10:37 remaining, UK ran off 19 straight points. USC didn't score again until 4:56 was remaining in the game, as Nate Wilbourne's basker made it 77-49.
Delk led all scorers with 28 points. Antoine Walker chipped in 14 points and 11 tebounds. Larry Davis led the home team with 18 points.

Kentucky 90, Ole Miss 60 (Jan. 6,1996) Lexington, Ky. (Rupp Arena)  Attendance: 21,275
Second-ranked Kentucky cruised to its 10th win in a row by jumping on visiting Ole Miss early, leading 52-28 ar rhe half.
Twelve of the 13 Wildcats who played scored. Tony Delk led the squad with 14 points as UK was never threatened. Even the absence of back-up guard Jeff Sheppard - who had injured his ankle the night before in a sledding accident -had no effect on the Cats as they cruised to their second SEC victory in as many tries.
Ole Miss, who hit just 17 of 64 from the field fot 26.6 percent, had nearly as tough of a time from three-point land, convening only six of 24 tries for 25.0 percent. Kentucky's defense forced 24 turnovers and Antoine Walker recorded his second-consecutive double-double, his fourrh of the season. The sophomore finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds. The Rebels were led by Ansu Sesay's 16 points.
