University of Kentucky Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes - 1879, May 13



      Pursuant to notice Messrs. Metcalfe, Moran, and Breckinridge met at the office of
Breckinridge and Shelby. The minutes of the last meeting read and approved.

   Treasurer White submitted a report of receipts and expenditures showing the receipts
to have been $6252.00, and the expenditures $5372.85.
   President Patterson submitted a report to this Board, and the catalogue for the present
year, which were approved.
   It is ordered that the Chairman, Mr. Metcalfe, prepare a report to the Governor of
Kentucky; and that President Patterson be requested to visit Frankfort, submit the reports
of the Board of Visitors to the Governor, secure the publication of 500 copies of the
catalogue at state expense, and contract with the public printer for the publication of not
exceeding 1500 additional copies.
   It is ordered that for the next year the following terms are fixed -

   Matriculation Fee .......................................   $5.00
   Tuition Fee .............   .......................... $15.00
Room Rent .......................................   $5.00,
for the full session and one half thereof for a half term.

      It was ordered that the commencement exercises be held on Wednesday June 11,
at the Opera House; and that the action of the Executive Committee in inviting General
Basil W. Duke to deliver the address be approved.

      It is ordered that Professor Patterson be directed to have printed the necessary
diplomas needed at the approaching commencement. The Board adjourned
