Collection Overview

Scope and Content
This collection contains church documents predominantly from 19th century Baptist and Christian churches in eastern Kentucky. Many of these materials consist of dismissal letters addressed from Virginia, North Carolina and Kentucky churches. Church minutes and several other church-related documents are from the Kentucky counties of Perry, Pike and Letcher. Included are communications between churches requesting ministerial assistance for ordinances and invitations to church events. The articles of faith from one church are also contained in this collection.
