Biography / History
Jefferson Davis (1809-1889) was a Mexican War veteran, senator, secretary of war, and the only president of the Confederate States of America.

The collection contains a copy of a letter from Jefferson Davis to an unnamed correspondent, discussing the happenings of congress in the 1850s such as the Missouri Compromise.
