Biography / History
The South Hill Historic District in Lexington, Kentucky is a residential area, two blocks from the downtown district, bordered by High Street to the North, Bolivar Street to the South, South Limestone Street to the East, and South Broadway Street to the West. The organization was established in 1974 "to promote the common interest of residents, property owners and business people within the South Hill Neighborhood." The Association is concerned with the preservation and development of architectural and environmental features of South Hill. It worked in cooperation with the Blue Grass Trust and the Lexington Historic Commission to place the neighborhood on the National Register of Historic Places.
