- Biography / History
- Teacher, lawyer, genealogist. Before her marriage to William T. Fowler, Ila Earle Fowler graduated from South Kentucky College in Hopkinsville, Ky. and taught. She studied law in her husband's office and passed the bar exam in 1927. She held a number of offices with the Woman's Club of Central Kentucky and the Kentucky Federation of Women's Clubs. She also belonged to many genealogical societies.

- The Ila Earle Fowler papers (1915-1944, undated; 0.23 cubic feet; 1 box) consists of correspondence, minutes, newsletters, printed material, newspaper clippings, writings and notes concerning Fowler's work with Kentucky women's clubs and her genealogical interests. The majority of the papers concern her work with the Kentucky Federation of Women's Clubs and the Woman's Club of Central Kentucky.
