- Biography / History
- Paducah was founded in 1827 by explorer William Clark and was first governed by a Board of Trustees. In 1856 it was elevated to the status of a third-class city and the next year a City Council was formed to take the place of the Board.
- Scope and Content
- The Paducah City Council minutes (dated 1833-1900; 0.1 cubic feet; 7 reels) consist of the microfilmed meeting minutes of the Paducah City Council. The minutes begin during the era when Paducah was governed by a Board of Trustees. They record the Board and City Council's transactions of city business. The first book of minutes is not present in the collection.
