Charles H. Woolley was a miller in Lexington, Kentucky.
Scope and Content
Materials include account books of the Charles H. Woolley family. These books record a variety of financial and personal records relating to the Woolley family. There are detailed accounts concerning the income and finances of several individuals, along with city and state assessment of property. The daily operations of a general store are recorded with a listing of items that customers purchased. Milk, butter, meat, vegetables, fruit, clothing, books, and street car tickets are among the items listed. Also documented are payments made to cooks, servants, music teachers, and schools. In addition, there are extensive records of the Woolley's laundry schedule, with a listing of the number and types of clothing that were washed.
