- Biography / History
- Frederick Crossman (1867-1949) was born in Rhode Island to Andrew J. Crossman and Fannie B. Crossman. He lived and worked in Kentucky in the coal industry. He married Roberta Allen Crossman (1880-1976) in 1921.
- Scope and Content
- The Crossman family papers (dated 1852-1908; 12 cubic feet; 23 boxes) primarily consists of of scrapbooks containing cartoons of the Civil War and post Civil War periods, broadside ballads of the same period, and volumes on the visits of Jenny Lind, Louis Kossuth and Edward VII to America. Additionally, the papers include two volumes of family pictures; two commonplace books; and unbound material consisting of family letters and papers.
