- In April of 2020, the University of Kentucky Libraries Special Collections Research Center launched "In This Together: Documenting COVID-19 in the Commonwealth" an initiative to gather photographs, documents, audio, and other materials to document the effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic of 2020 on the people of Kentucky.
- Scope and Content
- In This Together: Documenting COVID-19 in the Commonwealth Collection (dated 2020; 346 MB; 189 digital files) comprises digital photographs, diary entries, and personal narratives that document the effect of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Kentucky. The materials document mask usage, store and restaraunt closures, remote learning, community art projects, and people's personal experiences with sickness. Cities documented include Lexington, Louisville, Wilmore, Carrollton, Nicholasville, Frankfort, Danville, Crestwood, Versailles, Stanton, Frankfort, and Georgetown. Counties include Fayette, Jefferson, Boyle, Scott, Franklin, Jessamine, Fleming, Powell, Woodford, and Oldham. Formats include JPEG, pdf, and M4A audio files.
