cocktails at 5:45, dinner at 6:45, tour of
Merrell Library and speaker at 8:15. Those interested in making the

Q§y§Q§§§_T§E CATALOG: The division of the public catalog will begin
the week of November 26-30. The first stage of the project will be C
dividing subject headings (which are typed in red) from other headings
(which are typed in black) within each drawer. Many members of the
library staff will be participating in the project: the time and place
will be announced soon.
The catalog will remain divided within each drawer with pink divi-
ders to indicate "authors/titles" and "subjects" until the first week
in January. At that time, the physical shift to two catalogs will
take place. Immediately following the physical shift, drawers will be
relabeled. These two final stages will involve a smaller number of
staff members than the first stage. we hope the project will be com- I
plete before January 16, 1974, when classes for the second semester
will begin.
The Committee to Divide the Catalog welcomes any questions or sug-
gestions. Contact Ms. Green, MIK-Catalog Department 257-3848.
TQQEQ: The agreements with the contractor, architect, Design and Con-
struction and everyone else state that only 'official' tours may be
conducted through the new building. Authorization for these tours
must come from Bill Gardner. Please do not compromise the Library‘s
position by entering the building without the proper authorization.
POSITION OPENIHGS: Reference, Classified VII, open now; Acquisitions,
classified VI, open now.
PERSONNEL CHANGES: Terminations: Nita Lewaster, classified, Acquisi-
tions; Linda Smutz, classified, Cataloging.
» COURSE: The University does have a program, offered by the Personnel
éivision, for supervisory training. Mr. Carl Gorham is in charge of
scheduling these classes that are open to the staff of the University.
The classes are kept small and are held on a demand basis. A new
class is now being formed. If you are interested, call Mr. Gorham
