- Joseph Elliott Johnston was an author from Kentucky born in 1875. He published a book enitled Life Begins at Eighty in 1964.
- Scope and Content
- The Joseph Elliott Johnston papers (dated 1964; 0.23 cubic feet; 1 box) consist of original materials used for Johnston's 1964 book Life Begins at Eighty. The books contains his reminiscences, various poems, and comments on life. Besides the manuscript, the collection includes original sketches and photographs used in the book as well as letters concerning the book and masked negatives and plates of the book.
