- The city of Louisville officials created and maintained death certificates and documents for persons who died in Jefferson County. Birth and death records became mandatory in the State of Kentucky in 1910 and officially enacted in 1911.

- The Louisville death records (dated 1866-1907; 0.5 cubic feet; 15 reels) comprise microfilmed indices and volumes of death certificates and documents for the city of Louisville during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
