Groth, who finished ninth nationally last year (56 catches for 874 yds.), but junior
Dan Shetler (28 catches for 433 yards) is a capable replacement at flanker. The
offensive line, missing only center Joe Studer, should be better. Linebacker Mike
Callesen has been the leading tackler the last two years (140 tackles in '78) and
should be one of the leaders again this fall, anchoring a defense that will have
V experience in some positions and youth in others. The kicking game, both punting
and placekicking, is suspect.
