"The 'Old Stone Church'--A Presbyterian meeting-house about 8 [eight] miles North-East of Staunton, Augusta County, VA, erected by pioneers of the Valley of Virginia in 1748. Here worshipped the Allens, Bells, Trimbles, etc., and hereabouts their remains lie buried. Photograph taken in April, 1897, 150 [one hundred fifty] years after the building of the church."
