Biography / History
The Lamppin family of Floyd Knobbs, Indiana consisted of Thomas Lamppin (1868-1962), his wife Cora Belle Moore Lamppin (1874-1953), and their two children, Earline Lamppin McClain Dulworth (1903-1990) and Chester William Lamppin (1907-1993). Earline Lamppin McClain Dulworth married Charles A. McClain (1892-1952), a teacher, in 1926 and the couple had no children together. Charles' last name varied in spelling between McClain and McLean. Earline married Columbus J. Dulworth (1894-1986) after the passing of Charles. The couple had no children together. Chester Lamppin married Muriel Wigginton Lamppin (1906-1989) and the couple had two children together, Douglas William Lamppin (1939-1987) and Sherrill Lamppin Bohart (1939-2005). Douglas William Lamppin attended Tulane medical school and went on to become a flight surgeon and medical officer in the United States Air Force. Douglas and his family were stationed in Louisiana, Texas, Alabama, Ohio and Frankfort, Germany.
American Letters collector Wade Hall (1934-2015) was a native of Union Springs, Alabama.
