- Biography / History
- Lawrence Ferlinghetti (b. 1919) is a poet, contemporary with the Beats, and member of the wide-open poetry movement. By 1955 he had founded the City Light Booksellers and Publishers and in 1956 published Allen Ginsberg's Howl & Other Poems. Ferlinghetti's major works include A Coney Island of the Mind and A Far Rockaway of the Heart.

- Scope and Content
- The collection consists of two letters from Lawrence Ferlinghetti to Kenneth Cherry. One letter includes a copy of Allen Ginsberg's "In Memorium" pamphlet featuring a poem written by Ferlinghetti entitled "Allen Ginsberg Dying".
