Collection Overview

Scope and Content
Steel's name is sometimes spelled Steele. This collection contains legal documents in the form of depositions in the case of a land improvement dispute between William Steele and William Frazier. The depositions are in conjunction with a suit in District Court (Fayette County, Ky.) concerning the building of cabins and land improvement in the Dry Run area of the North Elkhorn River. Also included are two surveys done in connection with the case. The plats show several military surveys belonging to Patrick Henry.
