-Library personnel are cordially invited to attend two programs sponsored by
the Special Collections Department. _ ‘
A program opening the Hillbrook exhibit of presidential campaign memorabilia V I
will be held in Recital Hall of the Center for the Arts at 3:00 PM on Sunday, ·
October 12. Douglas Edwards of CBS News will deliver the main address. A
reception will follow the program and then the exhibit "Ballots and Bandwagons,"
will be officially opened for viewing in the Art Gallery.
On Saturday, October 18, at 10:00 AM, the papers of John Sherman Cooper will be g' A
Aformally presented to the University of Kentucky. The program, also to be . 1 ‘
Cheld in the Recital Hall of the Center for the Arts, will feature a slide/tape 7
show highlighting events in Cooper's career. Former Senators Thruston B.
¢ Morton and Clifford P. Case will speak. A reception in the Special Collections
Department will follow the program. V s ,7 _

Another upcoming program of interest is the Robert Penn Warren 75th Birthday
Symposium at the University 29-30 October. In addition to Warren and his .
wife, the novelist Eleanor Clark, participants include Cleanth Brooks, Robert
Heilman, R.W.B. Lewis, and Andrew Lytle.
